Hello, my name is Idalia Koehler! 🙂
So a brief history on me…I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. I come from a very large, loud, and extremely fun Puerto Rican family. I am happily married to my college sweetheart (He is German, that’s where I get the last name), we have been together for 13 years total but married for 9 glorious years (lol). I have had the privilege of living in different areas around the United States: Central Florida, Southern California, Virginia, Miami (we Floridians consider Miami another country), and now back to sunny SoCal.
I am 1 of 4 girls (my poor dad). My mom, being a strong and very brave woman, chose to homeschool us for the majority of our youth. I was homeschooled from 2nd grade through 8th grade. We were very much involved in our church and other community activities which allowed us to meet other children our age. Then I went to a public high school which changed my world completely. I LOVE animals with a deep passion. I have a 16 year old toy poodle named Puchi (LOVE of my life…my husband totally understands and fully respects the relationship) and an 11 year old yorkie named Harley who has stolen my husbands heart. We do not have any children yet (being the key word) but God willing that will change in the near future.
Choosing to live a healthy lifestyle is challenging but incredibly rewarding. I have fallen off the food wagon way too many times to count. I keep telling myself that getting/staying healthy is a marathon not a sprint. I hope to share recipes and workout routines that I have found most helpful. My sweet tooth is something that I refuse to completely give up, so I’m always looking for healthy alternatives! And I love baking. 😉
Please let me clarify that I am not a writer nor do I use proper grammar, my spelling (if it weren’t for spell-check) is atrotious (thank you spell-check) but I felt it was about time to start sharing some of my life experiences. I am usually very personal when it comes to my life and family, especially when the circumstances are hard, painful, or maybe even embarrassing. But I’m tired of sharing my life only when it’s good. Social media has become such a part of our routine that I want to start taking a stand on what is real! We are all real people, living real lives, facing real situations. I do not want to pretend that life is perfect, because sadly it isn’t. I hope to create a space or environment where real people can talk about the good and the bad. I want to share all of my life experiences and I hope that at some point others will feel encouraged to share their stories.
Sometimes its nice to know you are not alone in a world that can oftentimes feel extremely lonely.
